This came to my inbox sometime last year and I have no idea how I overlooked it until now. At any rate, download the 5 track EP “Runs on Codeine” for free (.zip). It’s full of dreamy quiet drones that sound exactly like you’d expect, given its title.

Recently received a disc of a net release from James Devane. It’s a series of “nine live performance excerpts featuring continuously accumulating loops filtered through different processes.”

It’s really well done. There’s a physical release scheduled for May, 2009. In the meantime, you can download the entire set of .mp3′s as a .zip. Stream the tracks below to get a taste.

This Noise Between Us is a Toronto based ambient music project. They’ve got a bunch of MP3′s available for download, some of them quite nice.

Some interesting work here from New York based artist Trevor Oswalt. A record of found sound and such titled “The Education Of The Individual Soul” is available for download or streaming.

The email says it’s a “forty-five minute uninterrupted sonic voyage down a rabbit hole of jungle monkeys, vintage piano, entheogenic messages, and pulse like beats.”

Don’t know what all that means, but some of it sounds quite nice. Have a listen!

Free Hidden Shoal Recordings Sampler

A free sampler record is now available for download from the always useful Australian label Hidden Shoal Recordings. It’s all quality stuff, and while some of the tracks aren’t particularly relevant for a site like this, it’s worth the download for the ones that are.
