Here’s a quick video I took of Stars of the Lid performing at the Good Shepherd Faith Church as part of the Wordless Music Series. Some photos and a bit of a review coming later this week.

“It’s so beautiful,” a beaming young girl clad in the requisite librarian chic said to the fellow manning the Stars of the Lid merch table. “I don’t even know what it is, but isn’t it beautiful?”

Nice review of an LA Stars of the Lid show. Looking forward to seeing them in a few weeks here in New York City.

Stars of the Lid have posted some tour dates for this Spring to their MySpace profile. The aforementioned New York City show as part of the Wordless Music Series is listed for May 2nd, though there’s no confirmation on this yet from the Wordless Music folks.

Christopher Willits, whose Plants and Hearts single we recommended a while back, is playing along with Scott Pagano at Monkey Town HQ in Williamsburg Saturday, January 26th. Follow the links below for more info!

Some exciting news for those of you in and around New York City:

Stay tuned for announcements regarding a number of Wordless Music
events in 2008 with the Kranky Records institution Stars of the Lid,
including their first New York Cityconcert appearance in seven years,
and the expansion of the Wordless Music series into our third city
nationwide. Also in the works: a series of free Wordless Music
concerts at the historic Whitney Museum uptown.

I attended one of these shows back in the fall, and it was interesting and well done. Looking forward to what they put together for 2008.

Ambient Music Blog favorites Stars of the Lid have announced tour dates, their first in over 5 years, for Europe this fall.

Whats even more exciting is that the duo is planning to add North American dates beginning in April 2008. I’m definitely looking forward to this! More news available on their official site.

I’ve posted about this before, but for the New Yorkers reading, you should know that it looks like the fall program for the Wordless Music Series has firmed up. I’ve got tickets for the November 11th performance of Múm, Hauschka, and Bing and Ruth/David Moore. Quite a few other great performances are scheduled, including shows featuring Colleen and Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood.

Amiina have updated their Web site, and announced some North American tour dates for the fall.
